A trail of crumbs was meant to lead Hansel and Gretel home, but birds scattered and devoured it, and the forest closed in. Abandoned by desperate parents, then lured by a witch's sweetness toward a darker fate, the children survived through cleverness, courage, and love for each other.
This piece explores betrayal and survival. Betrayal often grows from fear or desperation. Understanding that doesn't erase the pain, but it can open a path toward forgiveness. Perhaps resilience was the real treasure they carried home: the strength to face hardship and rebuild trust in their family.
What trails are you willing to give up to find your way home?
